Welcome to IRMng
Below is a list of items that have changed and will need to be addressed when moving from IRM.Net to IRMng.
Below is a list of items that have changed and will need to be addressed when moving from IRM.Net to IRMng.
IRMng makes use of Google Tag Manager (GTM) for inserting all tracking scripts into the booking website. If the trackpage.htm and tracktransaction.htm files are currently utilized for google analytics, those files will need to be removed and replaced with Google Tag Manager (GTM). If GTM is already in use, the existing tags will need to be edited to use event triggers. This is outlined in the IRM customization guide: https://secure.irm1.net/irmng/docs/customizationguide/analytics.html
The booking links from the marketing website will need to be edited. If a simple booking button is used that takes the guest to the search page of the IRMng, it will need to be changed from: https://[IRMdomain]/irmnet/res/resmain.aspx to https://[IRMdomain]/irmng/index.html. If a booking widget is used to pass parameters such as dates, people, discounts, etc., review the following documentation for proper syntax: https://secure.irm1.net/irmng/docs/customizationguide/irmng.html#integration
A couple of items to make note of are the arrival and departure date formats. These have to be formatted as yyyy-mm-dd. There is also a new parameter called “target” that is used to take the guest to specific screens. These are detailed in the marketing site integration section of the document referenced above.
IRMng makes use of RDP’s Content Management System (CMS) website for maintaining all images and descriptions of your units. If the CMS was not previously used, a support tech will have run a utility to move all the previous images and descriptions into the CMS. Please review the listings as they may have to be re-formatted. Most HTML coding is stripped during the conversion process. The images may also not be sized correctly. If this is the case, please discuss this with an RDP support tech. The original images may not have been large enough and will need to be re-uploaded. RDP may just need to change some settings and re-import the images again. It is best to check with RDP support before undertaking the task of uploading all new images. Best practice is to use a high quality landscaped oriented image of around 2000px wide. The CMS program will auto resize the image to load appropriately on various devices.
There is an IRMng configuration screen inside of RDPWin that contains various settings for how the IRMng site will show content. More information can be found in the configuration guide noted at the beginning of this document. Please take a look through these new settings and contact RDP support if you have any questions or would like to make changes to how the site functions.
IRMng is written using Bootstrap 4 and Google’s Angular product. Please contact a web design professional to create a theme for your new booking site. We have worked extensively with https://www.lacunacreative.com/ to create many of RDP customer’s IRMng themes. If you choose another company, have them review the following customization guide to help get them started. https://secure.irm1.net/irmng/docs/customizationguide/irmng.html
The web design company can create custom banners, change the colors of the site and the font style being used. Beyond these decorative edits, please direct all other questions to RDP Support.
